A bride and groom celebrate on Jamestown Settlement’s ships’ pier.

Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown history museums feature dramatic spaces for after-hours private events and special occasions, including weddings.

The museums, open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, tell the story of America’s beginnings – from the first permanent English settlement in 1607 through America’s decisive Revolutionary War victory in 1781 through exhibits and outdoor living-history experiences.

In addition to daytime touring, the museums offer unique settings and experiences for a memorable and successful after-hours event, whether it entails an evening reception in Jamestown Settlement’s rotunda, dinner in the re-created 1610-14 fort, cocktails on the ships’ pier overlooking the James River. At the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, evening events can be held in re-created Continental Army encampment or on a patio under the stars.

Both museums are located near a selection of hotel, bed and breakfast and timeshare accommodations in the Williamsburg and Yorktown area. Amenities include ample parking for motorcoaches and cars. All museum areas, except the Jamestown Settlement ships, are wheelchair accessible.

Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown are administered by the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
