Janet Kane Joins Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation as Senior Retail Operations Manager

WILLIAMSBURG, Va., November 24, 2015 – Janet Kane has been named senior retail operations manager at the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, with responsibility for overall operations, merchandising and product development for the gift shops at Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center living-history museums and the online retail component at www.shophistoryisfun.com. She also will administer food service contracts at the museum cafes.

Ms. Kane has more than 20 years of merchandising and marketing experience. Most recently, she was general manager for the Loveless Café in Nashville, Tenn., overseeing brand positioning, merchandising and marketing. She previously was general merchandising manager for the Smithsonian Institution and held senior management positions with Hallmark Cards, FAO Schwarz, Hard Rock Café, The Coca-Cola Company and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Ms. Kane is a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
