Dig Deeper: A Chance for Freedom
Take an empathetic journey as we connect with the lives of enslaved people during the American Revolution from their perspectives. Students discover what the daily lives of enslaved people were like through hands-on activities in the Continental Army encampment and Revolution-era farm. They then make the difficult decision – What is my best chance for freedom – to stay or to go? For grades 4 and up.
Program complies with VA Social Studies Standards of Learning.
“Loved learning about enslaved people at this time – really thinking about their lives and choices in a deeper way.” – Chaperone, Girl Scout Troop #204, Florida
