TITLE: Human Resource Analyst
POSITION: 00080
SALARY: Up to $50,372 with State Benefit Package
The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Human Resource Analyst. This position performs critical key human resource functions, such as ensuring agency compliance with federal and state mandates and regulations in the areas of salary administration, compensation, workers’ compensation, benefits administration, FLSA, and policy development and interpretation. In addition, this position performs a wide variety of analyses, supervises operations, researches initiatives, and prepares reports to support the agency in HR-specific short- and long-range strategic planning. Activities include development and maintenance of historical databases, establishment of budget baselines, trending, forecasting, best practices, recognition program changes, and quality process improvements.
TO QUALIFY: Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources administration including classification and compensation, recruitment, employment benefits, and employee relations. Strong analytical, organizational, writing, record-keeping, interpersonal, customer service, and automated systems skills. Ability to create and manage database information in a variety of formats. Knowledge of and experience in presentation and training methods and techniques. Ability to develop and interpret policies; develop presentations, options/recommendation, decision papers, and training packages for higher level management; manage multiple tasks and projects; and provide effective and efficient customer service. HR/Training/Benefit Administration Certification, Commonwealth of Virginia HR-including PMIS/BES experience and bachelor’s degree preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - PLEASE NOTE: All full-time and part-time paid staff of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation is required to complete and sign an Application for Employment. All volunteers applying for volunteer positions with the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation are required to complete an Application for Volunteerism. These documents require an employee or volunteer to certify that they have never been convicted for any type of violation. This is above and beyond VA Code §22.1-296.1-C which states “that (i) he has not been convicted of a felony or any offense involving the sexual molestation or physical or sexual abuse or rape of a child; and (ii) whether he has been convicted of a crime of moral turpitude.” In addition, the Foundation completes both name and sex registry background checks through Virginia State Police on all paid and core volunteer staff and the Contractor will (i) maintain all employee certifications on file, (ii) require an employee to update the employee's certification if the employee later is convicted of any reportable offense, and (iii) will make these certifications available for inspection upon request.”

TITLE: Volunteer Coordinator – PART TIME
POSITION: SS006
SALARY: $13.00 per hour
The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation is seeking a qualified individual to assist the Foundation in accomplishing its educational mission by ensuring qualified volunteer staff are attracted, mobilized and retained. This position supports the continuation of effective volunteer, internship and mentorship programs as well as assisting in maintaining a comprehensive training program for volunteer staff. This position will also be asked to make presentations to various civic organizations as well as lead service projects such as Road Scholars volunteers.
TO QUALIFY: Demonstrated knowledge of volunteer program administration, recruitment, training and evaluation gained through experience working with volunteers and/or community service programs. Demonstrated experience supervising volunteer staff. Strong organizational skills and public presentation skills. Ability to communicate well orally and in writing; ability to research, compile and present information. Demonstrated ability to work well with diverse individuals and groups gained through leadership, training and public presentation experience. Experience using Microsoft Office software, including Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel. Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends, early morning meetings, and evenings. College degree in education, human resource management, workforce development preferred.
